Simon built the entire camp with a little help from Soth as he sat near the fire, waiting for the others to get back to the camp. "Might as well get to reading." He thinks to himself while pulling out a book about plants and keeping up so he won't forget any small detail...even though his godly parent kind of makes it hard for him to miss practically anything.

Erik rode up to the town, taking off his horse's reins and bridle as he hopped off. He took his bundle off the back of the horse, tapping the side of her neck twice as she went back to the camp. He went into the town, climbing up to the roof tops and looking around as he pulled his hood and scarf up to cover his head and face. "This place reeks of awful, and I only have tonight to figure out why. Let's start with the big houses, where the clan leaders more than likely live." He said, looking around and spotting what he needed. He tied his bundle to his back, jumping off the roof and landing quietly as he took off at a jog.

The next page Simon turned to was blank, nothing written there. Soon, a question began to write itself out. "Hello, how are you? Do not alert anyone of my presence, I am rather seclusive." The four largest buildings each held a statue at the front of their grounds. The nearest one was of a skull, broken open with ravens pecking at the inside for any maggots or small animals hiding inside the rotting wood. When they heard Erik walk close, most flew off, save for one. It stared at him, as if it knew who he was.

"Interesting decor." Erik said, a dagger sliding into his hand. "You're either a watcher for this estate, which means I don't have very much time to go snooping about. Or you belong to someone from back East, that happened to come across me. Question is, are you friendly or one of my enemies?" He leveled the blade at the raven.

"What in the world?" Simon thinks to himself, not remembering this book to be magic. "Um...fine?" He says in a soft tone, not sure if he should be thinking the answer, writing down the answer on the book, or to say it out loud but keeping it quite enough to not bug the others or think that he's crazy.

"No, but I know your father." The raven said, hopping from what was its perch. It grew into the size of a man, the wings receding to its back as it turned into its true form. The beak shrunk into a nose as a slit on its face soon became a mouth, the legs retaining their raven features. The man had violet eyes, and wore robes of black. "I am Thestral, Messenger of the Gods. I was told, by Tempra, to give this message unto you: 'Only one Child of the Houses shall be with you in this journey of yours. Do not kill the Child of Debauchery, he who shows the signs of his Mother, Nyx. Be aware of the Clan Kincaid.'" The words changed, saying something new. "My name's Nyx, I am the Goddess of Night and Patron to Debauchery. One of my children is in that town. Do not kill them."

"I know who you are Thestral. But I do not play prophet to the games of my father and his ilk." Erik said, a twitch of his fingers sending his dagger back up his sleeve. "Nor do I care to be threatened by one of them into playing. I do not play half a game when I am forced to play. Give me a name, Thestral. I will not go around pad-footing because I might kill another Child, and with your daughter as close to me as she is it would not do to have Nyx's rage aimed at me."

"It is Robert the Accuser of the Kincaid Clan. Atop these steps is the house for the Rudolf Clan." Thestral said, wings spread out. "However, he is not the one to join in your journey. Be weary of the clan leaders, they each hold an attribute of their Clan's house God. All I can tell you is that of Rudolf's: The Clan Leader uses cryomancy, as I am his Clan's house God. If you require nothing else, I bid you good day."

"Require? No, but if you would do me a favor." Erik reached into his bundle, pulling a small tightly wrapped package from inside it. "Take this to my father, and after you hand it over spit in his face. Because when my mother needed his help the most, he abandoned her. But even in her last breath, she asked me to get that to him." He held it out to Thestral.

Thestral took the package, nodding to Erik. "The Jester will not like this, however he is rarely seen amongst the rest of us. When I see him, he will receive your gifts to him, the package and spit in the face." Thestral replied, before disappearing back to the realm he came from.

"I hope it hurts Dad, if you can even feel anything." Erik said, looking up at the sky. "Knowing that, even as she was murdered for her faith to you, she loved you. And I hate you for it, for letting her die." He drew a black metal blade from a sheath hidden along his pants leg. "Let's find out what skeletons these clans have, I don't like playing games without knowing all of the pieces." He took a running start, jumping up onto the outside of the house. He climbed up to the second floor, using the blade to cut through the wood around the window before creeping inside. He moved back into the shadows, waiting to see if someone was here and had heard him. After a short while he got up, moving around to look through the room and glancing out into the hall.

"What?" Simon asks while his eyes widen at reading that. He grabbed a pen and started writing in the book to be a little less noticed. "N-nyx? Um...why are you talking to me if I may ask?" He writes down his question, not actually saying it out loud but wondering why Nyx is talking to him.

"I speak with you because you can preserve knowledge, much like your father." The writing changed again, this time using the ink Simon used. "If you find the Accuser, do not kill him. If you do, you will understand why the night is best for debauchery - that is, why it is a great time for drunks to regret their decisions." The only beings in the manor were the house guards, tall creatures that were as strong as they were covered in fur. One was walking down the hall, past toward where Erik was, not noticing him.

"That's true..." He writes down on the paper. "But do you know what the Accuser looks like? And should I tell the others?" He writes honestly, knowing Erik is heading to the town.

"Thestral has already warned your friend in town." Nyx's words said. "When you close this book, its original form will return and our conversation erased. One more warning: Tempra wants you to know that you will face many other Demi-Gods in the future to come, some more dangerous than your friend, the child of the Jester, and the one that is child of Sanguine, combined." The words disappeared after Simon had enough time to memorize the information, fading away in the paper.

Erik moved quickly through the house, following his instincts towards where his goal should be. Ducking into the shadows every time one of the guards came near him, he quickly found himself at a large door with a lock. He quickly picked through, stepping into the room that turned out to be a large den. He closed the door behind him, before scanning the room. He noticed a number of valuable things, mostly jewelry and decorative plates that he ignored in favor of the books. His eyes lit up, noticing a magical charm on one of the books that he surmised would make others that didn't know it was there to ignore it. He pulled the book down, opening it. Most of the contents were trade agreements, debts owed to the clan. A couple of spells, and a handful of clan secrets that, if abused, could destroy the clan were near the back. "Nothing out of the normal here." He said, sliding the book back into the spot he took it out of before walking over to the window. He undid the lock, jumping out and rolling as he hit the ground before taking off at a sprint for the next house.

Simon closed the book a little slowly, hearing the 'thump' of the book closing while he tried to process how there are things stronger then Erik and Tobias combined. "This...is a lot worse then I once thought..." Simon mutters to himself.

On the East end of the town was the house of Clan Calcimus, a statue of a pumpkin standing in front of the gate. Iris walked over, tapping Simon on the shoulder. "You okay, Simon? You're never this secluded." She said, her head beginning to ache as she felt the presence of a new Demi-god. She knew Simon wouldn't sense it, he wasn't as powerful in magic as she was.

Simon thinks for a moment before sighing out. "I was told by the Goddess Nyx that there just so happens to be a child of hers near the town. And told me that we shouldn't kill whoever the hell it is...but she said the 'if you find the Accuser, don't kill him'." He says, telling her everything that Nyx told him, word for word. "I'm not sure if I told you this before but...I think we all are going through a journey a lot bigger then we once thought."

"Reeks of beasts." Erik said, waving his hand in front of his face. "Calcimus then. This one will be significantly harder, I assume the guards are closer to beasts. Scent and sound will be harder." He pulled his bundle out, untying it and rolling through to a black pocket. He pulled a bottle out, shaking the mixture inside. A white, black, and red mixture swirled around before settling in discolored blobs. "If I have to use this, they're gonna know someone was here. Let's hope not." He said, tucking the bottle into a pouch on his thigh before re-tying his bundle. He took a running start at the building, jumping off a window-sill on the first floor before climbing up to the third. He slid his blade into the gap of the window, sliding it quickly upwards and through the latch before slowly opening them outwards. He climbed up and inside, moving quickly to the door in case someone or something heard him and came to check.

"We are, but we have to get one of these great warriors. Whichever one it is, we'll be enlisting their help." Iris replied, sitting by Simon. "Besides, Tobias is set on getting them. No chance of us leaving until we do get one of them." Inside the door he had entered was the room of the Clan Leader, the Clan Wife asleep in their bed. She was a large woman, muscular. On the other end of the room was the crib of her newborn, sound asleep just like its mother. The Clan Wife showed no signs of stirring up, neither did the sleeping babe. By the bed was the key to the storeroom in the basement.

Erik grabbed a piece of clothing off the ground, rubbing it over his clothes to try to cover his scent before quietly moving out into the hall. He moved quietly through the building, ducking into the shadows whenever he heard a sound in the house close to him. His instincts were telling him to head down, so he did. He came to a large door, picking through the lock as he wandered in. His eyes glowed, his grip tightening on his blade as he looked around.

"Not the nearest Demi-God. This one is far, far away. And they are angry." Iris replied, a chill drawing down her spine. Inside was one long sheet of paper, describing all trades conducted by the Calcimus clan with the other Clans, nothing else. Most of the trades were food or services, but nothing too great in terms of debts owed.

Erik glanced over the paper, checking numbers with what he read through at the other clan house. A few of the numbers were off, something he attributed as bribes for the deals. Nothing particularly stood out, and glancing around the room offered him not even a secret compartment in the wall with his sight. He walked out, closing and re-locking the door before sneaking upstairs. He went over to one of the first floor windows, undoing the lock and jumping out before running off towards the next building. He knew there was another demigod here, that was part of what sat wrong in his gut. But something else smelled off about the place.

Clouds swirled over the town, storm clouds that boomed with thunder but never let a single drop of rain leave the sky.

Erik looked up at the sky, his grip tightening on his blade. He didn't like that, but he had a mission. Nothing short of his death would stop him, and with that in mind he continued on towards the next house.

The next house belonged to clan Kincaid, the statue being of a man whipping slaves - a symbol of power to the clan. To show that they were dominant was important to the Kincaid clan, and they would show it in any shape they could. "I believe that is something of the Charmcaster's ability - weather manipulation is something strong magical beings can conduct easily." Iris replied, reaching back toward her for her magic staff.
