The Fountain of Youth, said to bring Immortality to all who drink its waters. Dangerous to reach, and no mortal has ever been able to pass all the trials and reach the Fountain's steps and drink its nectar.
Five Demi-Gods sat in a tavern, hoods draped over their heads as they ate their meals and drank their ale. Tobias, son of Sanguine, was reviewing the map he acquired for their journey. "Look here. It says the Fountain is in the far East, where Day is begun. That means we'll have to leave Iridis, guys. Long journey." He mentioned to the two nearest to him.
"Yes, but we mustn't be too lenient with this. The journey there is more difficult than any trial you may have faced." said Iris, daughter to Thestral. "How will we even get to the Bridge of Eldren? We'd need a team of mercenaries to reach there, and someone spent our money on ale rather than equipment-slash-sell swords."

"I said I -hic- I was sorry." Erik, child of the Jester, slurred as he rested his head on an overturned mug. "Didn't say what it was meant for. But if we need money-" He left the sentence unfinished, a smile playing on his lips as he glanced past Iris at a group of merchants. "Just give me the word Tobias, I'm sure at least one of them gambles."

"Well I'll at least be able to learn some new things through this journey." Simon the son of Solumnus, says with a smile. "Always good to go out and find new opportunities to learn."

"Go for it. I'll be on over if you need help." Tobias said, grabbing his dagger he got from a merchant in town. Iris moved to another area of the tavern, going to see who she could hire or persuade with magic. "Erik, make sure you do't provoke anyone. Simon, you go see if anyone is willing to join in our expedition."

"You hurt me Iris, as if I would do anything of the sort." Erik called out after her, standing up and drunkenly stumbling over to the table with the merchants. He made a show of nearly falling over several times talking to them, before grabbing a chair from a nearby table and pulling it up. He pulled out a deck of cards, setting it in the middle of the table. "I propose a game, ten copper from all the players in a pool for the winner." He pulled a small pouch from his belt, setting it on the table. An evil glint in his eyes as the merchants smiled at each other, before pulling their own significantly heavier purses and putting them on the table. He picked up the deck of cards, passing it to the merchant on his left to shuffle and split it as Erik stretched in his chair, twisting around long enough to wink at Iris and throw a discreet thumbs up to Tobias.

"Right." Simon nods while heading off, searching for anyone willing to join. "Not any psychopaths, no one that looks shady as all hell...I wonder what I'll be able to learn? Maybe there will be ancient ruins, maybe some animals or tomes! Oh this is going to be great...or suck." He thinks to himself sheepishly, trying to think reasonably that this isn't just walking into a huge library.

Iris used her magic to persuade some mercenaries to accompany the group on their journey to the Fountain of Youth, looking towards the outside. She thought of their fifth party member, the Son of Solomon. He was prone to anger, and most always found it wise not to upset the giant man. Tobias gave Erik a thumbs up, before returning to his meal. He unsheathed his dagger, gripping it in his hand tightly before putting his fingers on the blade and caressing it between his index finger and his thumb.

The scholar looked around, wondering if he could find someone brave enough, or maybe stupid enough, to join along in their adventure. "I wonder if Erik is gonna beat those merchants. He always seemed to do better acting drunk against people." Simon thinks to himself in wonder, even himself who could half of the time guess what cards were coming up next couldn't beat that tricky man. (If your smart enough you can literally say which cards are coming up next without a silly trick getting in the way)

"Simon, go check on Soth. Bring him this." Tobias said, handing Simon a tray of food. "Be careful, big guy should be asleep. If he is, just say you have food."

"Alright." Simon nods while taking the tray of food. "Know where he is so I don't just walk around the place like an idiot?"

"Soth's outside, man. Too big to fit in here." Tobias said, finishing his ale. "And, uh, make sure those horses outside are still alive."

"You can never be too sure." He says while with a nod before heading outside. After moving around a bunch of people and walking outside he checked where Soth was, and to see if the horses haven't been kill by someone or just Soth.

Soth was a man-giant, nimble but strong. He was sleeping on his side, scratching his belly as he snored. In his other hand was his club, the head of the great mallet being that of an iron skull.

"Of course." Simon mentally sighs out. "I hate doing this." He thinks before taking a deep breath. "Time to eat Soth. Got enough food for ya." He says while making sure the giant could smell the food on the tray.

Soth woke up in an instant, reaching for the food and downing it all. "Thank you. Soth got tired, and then hungry, then tired AND hungry." He replied, swallowing everything. "Where Erik and others? Soth eager to go find Fountain of Youth."

"Iris is trying to get help, Tobias told me to fee you, and Erik is playing cards with merchants." Simon says with a shrug. "Erik got drunk again but you know him and drinks. We're gonna be going soon don't worry."

"Good. We need to head out, soon." Soth said, looking towards the nearby town. "Soth sees bright light coming from village. Soth thinks that mob will come to attack."

"Are you sure Soth?" Simon asks worriedly, wondering what kind of mob is coming, whether it's a group of random ass marauders just passing through torching things, or if it's a group that hate's at least one of the group. "Mind if you keep watch Soth? I'll go tell the others to get moving." Simon nods while heading back in the tavern and looking for the group, hoping they weren't already holding someone by the throat.

Tobias was sitting with Iris, now, the two of them awaiting the time to leave and for Erik to come back with the money. "So, how exactly did you-" "Siren magic." Iris replied, finishing her own ale.

"Guys, we got a problem." Simon says while rushing over to the two. "Soth saw some lights in the nearest town, he says there's a mob coming this way."

A heavy thud shook the table, as five large purses tied together landed in the center. "There, we have some money and some cranky merchants." Erik said, stabbing a knife into the table as well. "Oh, and one of them tried stabbing me when they figured out I was only pretending to be drunk. It took them awhile though, they didn't start getting suspicious until they'd lost almost a hundred gold. I don't know exactly how much I got, you can count it out Iris. But there's five merchants that aren't ever going to do business with me for the rest of their lives." He chuckled, sitting down next to her. "And I only got threatened once, what a miracle."

Soth, however, was dealing with the mob, who kept trying to prod him with their torches and pitchforks. A few mob members were knocked into the building after Soth back handed them into the wall. "Mob here!" He called out to his friends, Tobias grabbing the gold. "Iris, get the horses out of here!" Tobias said, handing half the bags to Erik. "Erik, make sure these don't get taken back by the merchants. Simon, you go with Erik, Iris can handle the horses herself. I'm going to help Soth out with-" Tobias was cut off as he had to catch a member of the mob and set them down. "Excuse me, why are you attacking our friend?" "You're friends with the man-giant?! You get paid good money for bringin' them into Lord Vero, so that's why we's bringing that beast in!" The man was knocked out after Tobias got the information he needed. Soth swung his club, smacking the mob and sending its participants flying. Thankfully, none were hit by the iron skull on the head of the club. "Soth! SOTH!" Tobias called out, getting the man's attention. "Whoa, easy there... come on, man. They won't be taking you in, alright?" He looked around, seeing that Iris had gotten their horses to safety. "Erik, come talk to the mob for me, 'kay? You're better with people than I am."

Erik walked out, adjusting his shirt so that his new dagger wasn't digging into his ribs as he tied the strings to the bags to his belt. "Alright, Ladies and Gentlemen. Well, men. I don't see a gentle soul among ye, all of your lives tempered by hard labor and tough decisions." Erik said, his eyes flashing as his insidious magic creeped out into the crowd. "Now, how might we noble travelers help you resolve this...issue that seems to have arisen?" He asked, looking across the crowd as their attention turned to him. "I mean, I understand fully the want to have a little extra money to be sure that you can afford a mite bit more bread and meat, but is that really worth the hassle and pain that will undoubtedly come from attacking this-" Erik looked at Soth, with his large club. "Obviously well armed being?"

"Erik is good at getting these kind of situations down...at least for him most of the time." Simon thinks to himself while watching Erik explain to the mob how not to capture there friend and take him away to Lord Vero.

"You're...!" A few people began to whisper and discuss amongst themselves, before seeing the fire of suns in Soth's eyes. "You're right! Everyone, run. The man-giant is too powerful, run!" Everyone began retreating, those who didn't stammered back and scuttled away from the Demi-Gods.

Erik closed his eyes, rubbing at his temple. "Never gets any easier, and always hurts. You alright big guy, none of them poked you too hard with their pitchforks?" He chuckled, opening one eye to look up at the man-giant. "Hey Tobias, we should probably head out before they get their thoughts back together and come back better equipped or with actual soldiers." He said, turning to look for the de-facto leader of their group. "I can only do so much, and the fact they were already scared made it pretty easy for me."

"Soth alright. Where to?" Soth replied, turning to Tobias. "We ride east. IRIS! wE'RE GOING EAST!" Tobias called out, Iris coming from around the building with the four horses. "The guys I hired are coming with us, they're on their own horses." Iris replied, pointing towards the group of five men she convinced to come with them. "Good. We're going to need at least a group of thirty people to reach the Fountain." Tobias said, nodding towards his friends and their new allies. Each of the Demi Gods mounted their own horses, and began their trek eastward. Soth ran with them, keeping up with the fast animals.
It was hours before they found a new town, which was protected by a large wall built to keep the outside world where it should be. "Let's see..." Tobias said, pulling out his map. "Not marked on the map. Any ideas of where we could be, guys? I don't see a name plate or a sign, or anything for that matter." "Could be an old, dead fort." Iris replied. "Any ideas, guys?"

"A dead fort? A useful place to rest, if it actually is dead." Erik said, glancing at the walls. He had an uneasy feeling in his gut, but whether that was indigestion or a foreboding feeling was difficult for him to tell. "It'll resolve itself, one way or another." His hand moved down to his boots, popping the lock that kept one of his daggers tucked against his calf.

"Ancient dead ruins..." Simon says, split between wanting to be afraid of just what might be in their, or excited that they found some ancient ruins. "Not sure if I should be happy to see it...or scared if the 'dead' aspect..." He says worriedly, pulling out a book on ancient ruins and searching through it, knowing at least some of them are known for housing the undead.
