You've lived in Ponyville for as long as you can remember. Never once having left the walls. Outside them is the most dangerous place on earth, the darkness of the Everfree has engulfed the lands around, and in the distance the ruins of Canterlot stand as a bleak reminder that the world was once a place of peace. You know only stories of what lies outside in the silent land. Monsters, made from the cursed remains of animals and ponies, each carrying the viral disease that destroyed the world.
It's early in the morning, and you're at Sugar Cube Corner, a small restaurant that has stood and served for over one hundred years. Apple Pie, a red mare with bubblegum mane has just served you when in walks a strange pony you've never seen before. He's rounder then any pony in town and wearing a suit that looks freshly tailored.

(You support Pinkie Pie and Big Mac shipping? Alright then) "Thank you." A griffin says to Apple Pie with a smile. "And who are you if I may ask?"

(Doesn't have to be Pinkie-Mac shipping to get named Apple Pie. The entire family is named after apples of some kind or another.) "He is an Outsider. It is dangerous to travel between the cities, but he looks like he came from Manehattan." A minotaur a few spots down said, drinking from a large cup that was the size of the griffin's head. "Probably came for the drinks. Not much else here right on the edge of the Old Everfree."

"If I came from Manehatten, I'd be wearing enough armour to weigh you down," he said. "I am Barron Stency Rich of Appledore." He gave a little bow. "And I'm here looking to hire some ponies for a job." (Lep's right. It was a Apple and a Pie, but it may not Big Mac and Pinkie And I'm off to sleep. Sorry, goodnight.)

"Well that depends on the job." The griffin says. "What is your job your offering?"

"Are you saying El Toro is not good enough for this job because he is a minotaur?" El Toro said, standing up to his full height as the boards beneath him creaked beneath the weight.

"Not at all, anyone can join if they're up for the job," the pony said. "I'm looking for brave individuals for a very dangerous mission of discovery."

"I'm not a pony either but I'd like to join this quest." The griffin says while getting up as well. "So, what do you want us to do?" (Also, Feather...do I need to say what his pet is or no? And does he have it right now?)

"I've always wanted to go on an adventure" Red Velvet said with a grin

"What exactly do you offer El Toro for his fists?" El Toro asked, cracking his knuckles as he walked towards the pony.

The pony took a seat at their table. "Have you ever been outside of the town walls?" he asked.

"Once." Silver shrugs a little bit. "But not that far. Why do you ask?"

"El Toro comes from elsewhere, so he has indeed been outside of the town walls." El Toro said, the chair creaking as he took a seat.
