After twenty minutes worth of fighting, the marauders withdrew from the city and ran for the hills. Those that were crippled were carried back, and not one marauder was left in the city. "Aw, where'd my lunch go?" Ali cried, looking for at least one dead marauder.

"Let's just make sure the town hasn't been completely destroyed." He frowns, rather worried for the destroyed town.

"There ain't nothing here for us, anyhow! Look, the fighting occurred here, not on the ship; nothing's destroyed!" Ali said, using his club as a pointer to the shops that had destroyed windows and displays.

Max sighed out a bit. "Alright."

There were a few guards who held them up, and began asking them questions. "Who are you? You two don't appear to be from here." asked one guard, spear in hand.

"Before you ask, no we are not with those marauders." The diamond dog frowns. "But we got here not too long ago, we were hoping to talk to someone in charge of this town but...apparently it's plagued with violence."

"There are no Marauders here in Baltimare." said the captain of the town's guard. "I highly suggest you two leave. Outsiders are warned to tread carefully here."

Max just frowned at that. "I'm sorry what happened for about twenty minutes?" He asks honestly, saving his snark for more appropriate times. "We just came here to talk."

"There ain't no Marauders here, end of story. What do you want to talk about, outsiders?" the captain asked, arms crossed.

"Ali? Like to help?" Max frowns, wondering why this guard is slightly brain dead about what happened not five minutes ago.

"Look, man, there were clearly a bunch of Marauders here earlier, so just-" Ali was cut off by the clamping of magic based shackles around his wrists, tightening and squeezing onto him. "You've bought yourself a ticket to the city dungeons for disturbing the peace, bringing up rumors about 'Marauders in the city'." the guard captain said, some guards starting to drag Ali off. "And what about you? Want to continue spreading these rumors, too?"

Max did the brightest thing and grabbed the guard captain by the throat. "It's either you let go of my friend or I'll show you the true meaning of pain." He growls, the rest of the guards feeling a chill up there spines at the sudden shift to rage and how quickly he reacted to Ali getting arrested for literally no reason. "I don't know who's buying you out to lie but you better let go of my friend got it." He demands, glaring at the other guards like 'if any of you fuck with me I will rip your captains throat out'. (Sorry for the sudden rage but...that's just uncalled for when the place was just attacked)

The guard captain gave out what sounded like a chuckle, but coughed mid way. "I'm the captain of this city's guard, kid. I could have the both of you thrown into jail for the rest of your lives, and no one would dare question it. I'm working for the city's highest authority, trying to keep everyone here safe." Guards surrounded the two of them, spears and swords all aimed at Max. "Let me go, kid, or you may face a death penalty." The guard captain smirked, before using an escape skill to get out of Max's grip on him.

Max just shakes his head. "Of course you would abuse your power..." He mutters, taking a breath. "Just wanted to talk, but if it's alright with you, mind if I ask to this 'higher authority'? We came to talk, not to fight...which is what all of you seem to do." He says to all the guards having their weapons raised for literally this entire conversation.

"The city council, that's all you need to know. Tell ya what, you and your friend can go, on one condition - get what you needed, and get out of here." the guard captain said, before his face turned grim. "Oh... Xarxes..." "You see, Justice, I don't send two of my crew and expect to see them shackled. I expect them unscathed and ready to man my ship." Xarxes said, near trampling over the guard as he marched over. "I'll be taking what we need, my crewman, and leave, if this is the kind of hospitality you're giving my men." He turned to Max, asking, "You two alright?"

"Yes we are captain." Max nods. "But we were wondering why there was a marauder attack on the city and were apart of it as well, which we were unscathed by that as well, until the guards came up and chained Ali and dragged him off." He says before continuing on with his full report knowing that this is going along the lines of 'are we alright?'. "And that's my full report. I'm sorry it wasn't just a 'yes we are' captain but I needed you to know about everything sir." The diamond dog says, his ears splayed back in nervousness.

"Right - Justice! I want my Hyena back, Justice." Xarxes boomed, towering over the guard captain. "You still owe me for Las Pegasus! I bailed you out and rescued your hide, remember?" The guard captain grumbled, mumbling something sounding like a pig grunt. "Bring back the Spotted Hyena, men. He's cleared of charges." Within a few minutes, Ali was back, club in his hands, and free of shackles. "Thank you - boys, get back to the ship." Xarxes said, "We can survive without a few pints of ale for a few days."

"Yes captain." He nods, following along with his captain back to the ship.

Ali laughed once again before doing as he was told, following the captain back to the ship. "You know what he knows, captain?" "The marauders? Yes. This city was plagued by those who thought the old ways were best, and they called themselves Marauders. Ended up splitting from the city and went into hiding."

"So then why were they all up in arms saying 'whoever says marauder deserves to be punished'?" Max asks in confusion. "I mean, we saw what happened but to immediately hate anyone who says a word is just...weird."

"They're trying to keep peace. Think of it as a means of keeping the citizens blind to the truth so they can feel safe." Xarxes said, ponies stepping aside as the three of them marched towards the ship. "The city guard is paid by the city council to keep everyone quiet about the Marauders, and anyone who brings it up and reinforces the idea that they exist gets to meet the dungeons."

"I...see where your going captain but isn't that just adding to the problem?" Max asks, before sighing out. "Making sure the citizens are ignorant of the problem is fine yes, but having one utterance of them and automatically getting jail time doesn't really sound good."

"Aye, but we should not bore ourselves with that possibility happening to us." Xarxes said, flying up onto the ship as a rope was dropped down for the others.

Back in Ponyville, another portal opened up. A man in strange garb walked through, a satchel hanging over his shoulder and under his cloak. He had bizarre eyes, one blue as the sky while the other was as violet as an amethyst.

The ponies saw the strange man and got worried, not entirely 'running to their houses screaming' worried but just staring at the new person and trying to go about there day kind of worried where they still keep an eye on him but still try to do their normal thing.

The man muttered a few words beneath his cloak's hood, and soon a creature arose from the ground. It appeared to be a green, horned imp. The man began walking closer to the town, the creature hopping alongside its master.

The folks of the town started seeing the man and the green imp, and were slightly panicking at the moment and hurrying up with what they were doing and heading straight to home cause reasons.

"Vinishta, ez nerom." the man said, the Imp scampering onto its master's back. He looked at the town, trying to find someone to help him. "Hello?" he called out, walking closer into town.

"Hello." A pony said, walking over and showing himself as a green coated unicorn stallion with a red mane and tail, wearing simple blue clothes. "Welcome to the...very quite Ponyville."
