(I'm going to assume you never fired a gun in your life, nor bothered to do research?) Damian kept his mouth shut, waiting for the boy to begin putting holes in the target. "You know, you would need years of training to even begin using that weapon. After all, snipers wouldn't be at the front lines, nor even be in the same building with their target." He said, the range extending into a simulation hologram, an illusion for actual snipers to train underground using precise calculations based on real-world elements. "Try to hit that target one thousand meters away." He offered, knowing that the kid wouldn't hit the man-sized target in the simulation.

(You'd be correct, and I have done very little research) Skyler took aim for a few seconds placing his right eye on the scope, closing his left eye and holding his breath for a few seconds to get a good aim. As he fired he felt a sudden rush, as well as a kickback unlike any other. He fell backwards and as he looked, he saw he had only clipped the shoulder of the target, he huffed at his poor performance. He brushed a few strands of loose hair out of his eyes. "Damn." He muttered under his breath.

Damian chuckled softly, seeing the simulation carry out the calculations and showing where the bullet had actually landed: A good distance away from the target after accounting for wind and drop. "Well, first time for everything." He said, handing a medical wipe to Skyler, noticing some bleeding from the kid's eye after trying to look through the scope. "Get that looked at before coming back here. I'll put this away for now." Damian said, taking the rifle off the counter. (Figures, the way you write Skyler makes him prone to the following: Scope bite, limp wristing, inaccurate shooting, deafness, self-injury and annoying more experienced agents. Then again, he's a teen who Damian dragged in so it's okay for now.)

] Skyler nodded and got up, taking the medical wipe and dabbed his eye for a few seconds before walking out to find a doctor. "I'll go get this looked at." He said flatly as he left the room, disappointed in himself for making such a fool in front of Damian, he [/i]hates[/i] making a fool of himself especially around people who try to help him.

(If you want to learn the syntax, ask Lep. He's probably more tolerant than I am.) Damian sighed, unloading the rifle and placing a submachine gun in its place. Hopefully the kid doesn't take his eye out with this. He thought, sighing a little as he lay the unloaded weapon with a full magazine beside it to see if the kid would be able to reload the weapon and not blast his eardrums out.

] Skyler didn't know where to go to get this checked out, but he wasn't going to ask Damian, he just looked around, careful not to get in anyone else's way.

(What's with the additional closing bracket?) Mercy noticed a recruit walking through the halls with a bleeding eye, deciding to walk towards the kid and placed a hand on Skyler's shoulder, "Lemme guess, you're a newbie?" She asked.

(Sorry, a flaw when copypasting) Skyler nodded. "Yeah . . ." he said chuckling nervously. "Just don't know where the medical bay is . . ." he said with a slight sigh.

Mercy smiled politely and led Skyler to the medical bay, which was pretty low tech compared to everything they passed on the way. Most of the room was darkened or covered up with cloth, possibly due to the renovation. There was only a single bed for a patient to rest on, though there was a spare mattress on the ground, wrapped in sterile plastic wrap and kept clean. Mercy scrambled around for a kit of MedGelâ„¢, which contained a vial of the gel, bandages, a pair of syringes and a vial of rubbing alcohol. "Stay still." She instructed, taking Skyler's hand and removing it from his face. "This'll only sting a little." She assured before applying a small amount of the medical gel.

Skyler did as told from Mercy and stood perfectly still. He was surprised with how little tech is in the room, compared to the rest of the room. He felt a sting of pain for a second. "Ah . . ." he said under his breath, but muffling it as he is supposed to be a soldier and soldiers don't say a thing when feeling a minor sting from rubbing alcohol.

Mercy helped the boy back up, still smiling a little. "You're fine, go on, get back to the range and keep both eyes open this time. Snipers aren't like the ones in holo films anymore." She added, hiding a snicker behind her comment.

"Okay," Skyler nodded and stretched. He went back to the range looking around. He still had little experience with anything more than a handgun. He stretched and rubbed his eye, it stung a little, but no more than a small pain. He looked around the guns. He may not know much about guns, but he can tell Damian didn't want him to hold a sniper rifle, which he'll get to later.

"So, kid, ready for some actual training? I'll be actually coaching you now, mostly because you're a bit of an idiot. No offense or anything, but picking up a PT-408 with absolutely no idea what you're doing is a sign of an idiot." Damian said, nodding at the counter, "I got you an ARD, simple nine mil and it's not so bad for a newbie. Pick it up and put on your ears, finger off the trigger when you check your sights."

Skyler nodded and grabbed the ARD, soon to put the earmuffs on. "Okay," he said with a smile. "And none taken, I suppose," Skyler rolled his eyes at Damian's remark of him being an idiot. "Let's get to training." He said, coldly.

Damian nodded and a target by the three hundred meter mark popped up. "Put your sights on that and make them clear. Tell me when they're lined up and then fire the single SimShot at the target." He instructed.

Skyler nodded and took aim, this time taking note of anything that would change, since Damian didn't know him too well, he didn't know his high IQ. Sure, not the biggest IQ, but he was probably smarter than most of the soldiers in that place. "Okay . . . it's lined." He said, taking a shot, this time, it hit the shoulder side of the target, he hoped he had done this right, and it's not just another embarrassing moment for him.

"Reload, there's a full mag next to you." Damian instructed, keeping the target up. "Try adjusting your sights, they may be misaligned." He added.

Skyler nodded and took the full mag and put it in, reloading. "Okay," he adjusted the sights and smiled. He shot again, missing once again. He was pushed back a little, but not much.

Damian noticed that the kid was actually being knocked back a little too much for a simple 9mm, though he did also note that Skyler was standing in the worst possible way for a shooter to be firing from. "Before you fire again, keep your legs apart and lean into the gun to handle the recoil. I've placed a red dot on the target, sight in on that and fire again while standing properly." Damian instructed, a hologram in the next booth demonstrating the shooting stance that Damian was describing.

Skyler nodded and got into the correct stance, as soon as he felt right as he was correctly in place. He aimed and took a shot hitting the target, but just to the left of the middle of the target. He chewed his lower lip, unsure if that even "okay" in Damian's normal-set standards. "H-How was that?" he finally asked weakly.

"Fire off a few rounds and tell me if it feels right." Damian replied, the red bits of the target blinking a little to begin tracking bullets. "It's still in semi-auto, fire off... say, five shots." He added.

Skyler nodded and took aim the best he could, which to him probably wasn't the best he could do. But he still shot five shots and hit different places on the target, all peppering random places on the chest.

(You clearly don't know how guns work, huh?) Damian sighed, "Try adjusting your sights again, the selector should still be on semi unless you changed it. If you did, switch it back to semi." He instructed, getting up and over to a booth, raising a similar target and following his own instructions. Five shots and five dead center hits on the targets in semi-auto. "When you can do exactly as I did, you're a qualified assassin. If not, you're just some chump we sent out to die." He added, decocking and keeping his weapon.

(Ironic for someone who lives in Alaska) Skyler bit his bottom lip, taking aim once more, he took a deep breath. "Here we go . . ." he murmured, shooting the target, hitting the dead center. He still pondered if that was good enough.

"Good, finally got it. Now reload and try it once more, I'll be popping targets up on the left and right, transition between them like this." Damian walked up to the booth again and the original target fell back down as two more, one on each side, came up. He quickly fired at each one, first from left to right and then right to left. "Make sure to get them in the head this time." Damian added as the heads of the two silhouettes became red, showing that all of Damian's shots had met their marks.

Skyler gulped and reloaded his weapon, his hands had a bit of a shaky side to them for a second, but that subsided after a moment, he then proceeded to fire at one target, then quickly shifting to the target on his other side, hitting the target causing it to come back. It was only in the chest, but it was a fair improvement from his previous - failed - attempts.

Damian smiled, nodding. "Nice work! Aim for the head this time, armour is a popular commodity and we don't like to take too many chances." He added, the red portions sliding up to the head of the targets. "Try it out. We may have armour piercing rounds but we prefer more... conventional approach. Fire when ready." He added, waiting for Skyler to calm down and start fire again.

Skyler chewed on his bottom lip as he took a deep breath, before taking aim and hitting the first target on the cheek, he instantly saw the flaw, someone could get up from a shot grazing the cheek, he instantly realigned and corrected his mistake and hit just above the armor line, hitting the target on the neck.

Damian smiled, seeing Skyler blow the head off the target, though the second one was still active and waiting to be shot. He said nothing, knowing that the new guy would know enough by now.

Skyler then soon followed to shoot the second target. He rubbed the back of his neck, as the target had a hole in the head. "I take it I have a long road ahead of me?" he said, with a small chuckle as he looked around, the gun held in his hand firmly.
